Invisalign Liverpool & Carlingford
Creating beautiful smiles, invisibly
Invisalign is the clear, comfortable, and discreet way to straighten your teeth without the look and feel of traditional braces.
Clear aligner therapy (including brands such as Invisalign® or Ormco Spark®) is a modern orthodontic treatment that uses a series of removable, transparent trays to gradually move your teeth into better alignment.
Unlike fixed braces, clear aligners don’t use brackets or wires. Instead, they are custom-made to fit snugly over your teeth, applying gentle pressure to guide them into position over time.
A 3D scan of your teeth is taken to create a personalised treatment plan.
A sequence of clear trays is made, each slightly different, to progressively move your teeth.
Aligners are worn for 20–22 hours per day, and changed every 1–2 weeks.
Regular check-ups with your orthodontist ensure your teeth are moving as planned.
That depends on your smile goals, lifestyle, and the complexity of your case.
Our team of orthodontists in Liverpool and Carlingford can help you decide if Invisalign is right for you with a personalised consultation and treatment plan.

Orthodontists are dental specialists with advanced training in tooth and jaw alignment. Consulting a specialist ensures your clear aligner treatment is carefully planned, monitored, and integrated with your overall oral health.
Clear aligners are generally more comfortable than braces, but you may feel pressure or tightness each time you change to a new tray. This is a sign the aligners are working, and the sensation usually settles within a day or two.
For many cases, yes. Clear aligners are effective for mild to moderate crowding, spacing, and certain bite concerns. However, traditional braces may still be the most reliable option for more complex orthodontic problems. Your orthodontist will assess your teeth and recommend the treatment that will provide the best and safest result.
Treatment length varies depending on the complexity of your bite. Many cases are completed within 6–18 months, while some minor corrections may be achieved in just a few months. Your orthodontist will give you a more accurate estimate at your consultation.
If your private health insurance includes orthodontic cover, you may be eligible for a rebate on Invisalign®, just as you would for braces. Our team can help you check your entitlements and navigate your health fund options.
Yes. For the best results, aligners should be worn 20–22 hours a day, including while you sleep. They should only be removed for eating, drinking (other than water), brushing, flossing, or for short periods during special occasions.
Missing a few hours occasionally is not usually a problem, but frequently forgetting to wear them can slow down treatment or compromise your results. If this happens, let us know — we’ll guide you on the best way to get back on track.
You can eat and drink what you like after removing your aligners. It’s important to brush before putting them back in to avoid staining, bad odours, or tooth decay. Only plain water should be consumed while wearing aligners.
Most patients see us every 6–8 weeks for progress checks. Although clear aligners often require fewer visits than braces, we still like to monitor our patients regularly to make sure their teeth are moving as planned and to catch up on any questions or concerns.
Yes. Just like with braces, retainers are essential after clear aligner therapy to keep your teeth in their new positions. Your orthodontist will recommend the most suitable retainer for you and explain how long you should wear it.
If an aligner is lost or broken, contact us as soon as possible. Depending on your progress, we may advise you to move to the next aligner, go back to the previous one, or order a replacement.
No. At our practice, we use 3D intra-oral scanning instead of traditional impressions. This creates a highly accurate digital model of your teeth, making the process more comfortable and precise. These scans are also used in our 3D treatment planning software to map out your orthodontic journey from the very beginning.
